Not such a Bumble Bee…

As I lay in my bed, allowing the gentle grace of slumber cloud my eyes and carry me into a world of dreams, my heart beat fast with fright.

In my bedroom I was cleaning up. Nothing out of the ordinary. My eyes wandered around my room in search of a missing sock. As I scanned the four corners of my room, my eyes were distracted by and object in my peripheral view. I focused in. To my greatest fear, it was a gigantic Bee! Almost like an over-sized Hornet. I was frozen. My feet locked. My breath at a screeching halt. I could feel my heart pound in my chest. As I stared, the monstrosity stared in a knowing way. It flew with great speed around my head, as I kept very still. Then plummeted itself onto the floor, where its exoskeleton shed off. He arose out of his old body into a much newer shell. More aerodynamic. It flew to another wall in the bedroom and stared as it showed me the new retractable stinger; growing up to 3 inches long and dripping with poison. My body crouched down to reach for the remains of it’s old exoskeleton. I picked it up and booked it out of my door slamming it shut behind me. I had trapped the beast inside. I ran to my father to inform him of the creature inside my room. He suggested it was just one of those large black bees that are, for the most part, harmless. That is when I held my hand out to show him the enormous exoskeleton. He gasped. Just then the telephone rang. I answered and a woman on the other line was calling in regards to the sheets I had just purchased. She informed me that they were recalling all of the sheets due to lethal Bees that crawled into the bags before they were shipped to the United States. I hung up the phone after writing down the mailing address. My father and I then slowly entered my room. The Bee was crawling on the sheets. I had to act fast. I bundled the sheets together to trap in the monster. It worked, until the retractable stinger punctured through the sheets and into my hand. I kept bundling the sheets tighter so eventually the Bee was immobile. Then I threw the pile into a thick bag that my father was holding. We then vacuum sealed it. I looked to my hand and a large welt had started to form. I immediately thought to squeeze the poison out. As I squeezed, a large amount of blood had poured out. I started to feel faint. Then… I woke up.
